If you’re thinking about a new career in the exciting field of healthcare, BMH’s Medical Assistant Apprenticeship Program could be a great option. This six month program is a collaboration between Brattleboro Memorial Hospital and Community College of Vermont (CCV). It offers paid, on-the-job training and full tuition scholarships for up to four (4) successful applicants.
As a medical assistant, you’ll work with doctors and other healthcare professionals to provide quality care for patients. Job responsibilities include taking patients’ vital signs, drawing blood, and performing lab tests. You’ll also update and file medical records, fill out insurance forms, answer telephones, and schedule patient appointments.
Course work includes both classroom instruction at CCV and paid, on-the-job training at BMH. Upon successful completion of your studies, you will receive a full-time position as a medical assistant at BMH and become eligible to take the CCMA certification exam.
