BMH’s Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehab department is excited to be offering a free Wellness PLUS Program that will start on Tuesday, October 10th.
The program is designed specifically for people at risk for heart and lung disease due to diabetes, high blood pressure, tobacco use, obesity, and sedentary lifestyle. Participants will meet twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays for a total of 16 sessions.
The program will include personalized, supervised exercise and fitness instruction lasting one hour. Participants will have access to exercise equipment such as treadmills, stationary bike, elliptical trainer, rowers, free weights, and more.
Also include are one-hour education sessions designed to help people develop and maintain healthy lifestyle changes. Topics include stress reduction, healthy eating, home exercise, weight loss, diabetes management, and skills for managing chronic health conditions. Thanks to a grant from OneCare Vermont, participants can sign up at no cost!
