BMH/CCV Medical Assisting Program

BMH/CCV Medical Assisting Program

Begin Your Career Path as a Medical Assistant

Are you dreaming of a hands-on medical career? Can you see yourself wearing scrubs and a stethoscope, working as part of a medical team? Compassionate people who enjoy helping others are great candidates for a career in medical assisting!

Medical assistants work with doctors and other healthcare professionals to provide quality care for patients. They take vital signs, draw blood, and perform lab tests. They also update patients’ medical records, fill out insurance forms, answer telephones, and help schedule patient appointments.

Medical Assistants are in High Demand!

Employment for medical assistants is expected to grow much faster than average, with excellent job opportunities. Students in the BMH/CCV Medical Assistant Program learn high-demand skills that prepare them for entry-level positions in a variety of clinical settings.

A New Career Can be Yours in Just Months!

Brattleboro Memorial Hospital and Community College of Vermont have partnered to create an apprenticeship program supported by the Vermont Department of Labor’s Apprenticeship Expansion Grant.  This six-month program is limited to 20 participants.

The medical assisting apprenticeship program is a great way to begin working toward a certificate or associate degree at CCV. The apprenticeship includes 15 college credits, which can be applied to CCV’s clinical medical assisting certificate as well as CCV’s health science associate degree program.
