Speech Therapy
Brattleboro Memorial Hospital’s speech pathologists provide therapy to help people develop their communication abilities and treat disorders affecting speech, language, the voice, and swallowing (also called dysphagia).
Who Can Benefit?
We work with many patients, including those who have experienced:
- strokes
- undetected hearing loss
- head injuries
- neurological disorders that affect speech, language, or swallowing (Parkinson’s or Alzheimer’s, for example).
What is BMH’s Approach?
Our skilled providers offer:
- one-on-one intensive evaluation of communication and/or swallowing abilities
- an integrated team approach with other healthcare providers to provide the best possible care
- collaboration with families to help individuals maximize patients’ abilities and minimize disabilities.
